The Sabah Association of Professional Accountants (SAPA) was duly incorporated under the Registrar of Society on 18 November 2024, and dedicated to serving the interests and development of accounting professionals based in Sabah, Malaysia.

VISION
SAPA will contribute significantly to the growth and development of the accounting profession in Sabah.
MISSION
SAPA shall ensure that all its members will operate ethically and professionally and meet the expectations of its clients by providing effective advocacy in industry and government affairs, training, education and as well as business opportunities.
OBJECTIVES
SAPA aims to be a platform where Sabah-domiciled accounting professionals and firms can unite to address key issues, share expertise, and pursue collective goals that contribute to the advancement of the accounting profession. The association is committed to advocating for the needs and concerns of its members, ensuring that they remain at the forefront of the ever-evolving business and regulatory landscape.
Key objectives of SAPA include:
- Advocacy & Representation: Representing the interests of accounting professionals in Sabah to government bodies, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, ensuring that local firms and professionals are fairly represented in discussions on policy, regulations, and business opportunities.
- Professional Development: Promoting continuous learning, training, and professional development for accounting practitioners through seminars, workshops, and educational programs. SAPA is dedicated to ensuring that members remain updated on the latest industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Support for Local Firms: Strengthening and empowering Sabah-based accounting firms by providing resources, guidance, and collaboration opportunities, aiming to enhance their operational efficiency, competitiveness, and market reach.
- Fostering Collaboration: Encouraging the merger and collaboration of smaller local firms to optimize resource-sharing, improve business practices, and achieve greater operational efficiency.
- Creating Employment & Opportunities: Actively working to create opportunities for local accounting graduates and young professionals, thereby contributing to the development of a skilled workforce within the state.
Through its initiatives and activities, SAPA is committed to enhancing the professional standing of accountants in Sabah and ensuring the sustainable growth of the local accounting industry.
